Mill Valley Neighborhood Response Groups
Using the Mill Valley Fire Department’s Mutual Threat Zone maps, 13 neighborhoods were chosen both within city & county boundaries but lie within Mill Valley 94941 and within the Mill Valley School District boundaries. The NRGs may also include businesses and faith-based organizations that are within their boundaries.
How we are getting started:
As we develop Mill Valley’s NRG program, we are borrowing heavily from our neighbors and friends in Central Marin. Thank you to Lee & John Howard for being our mentors and to Laurie Rice, who just retired from the NRG Coordinator position. The NRG success story in Corte Madera, Larkspur and now Greenbrae is due to the hard work and passion of hundreds of volunteer organizers, who serve as block captains and steering committee members and to the financial support of the Towns of Central Marin. We are fortunate to be able to learn from their ten years of commitment to keeping their neighborhoods safe. We are starting our NRG program in Mill Valley by focusing on two of our eventual 13 NRGs, Alto Sutton and Cascade Canyon.
